Euro Cup 2008 Predictions !

You have been waiting the Euro Cup predictions and here you go ! I will be touching on Outright, group winners and Top scorer first. Later of the day,if I have the time, I will be providing the preview for tonight matches.

Outright Winner: Germany Odds: Singaporepools(4.30)

Grp A winner: Switzerland (Singaporepools 4.00)

Grp B winner: Germany (Singaporepools 1.45)

Grp C winner: Romania (Singaporepools "Dark" horse for me!) (9.00)

Grp D winner: Spain (Singaporepools 1.65)

Top Scorer: M. Klose(Germany- Singaporepools 8.00), C. Ronaldo (Singaporepools 6.50)

Preview:

Germany is lucky on Grp B where they will not be facing strong opponent like holland, Spain, Italy and france. This is the advantage to them to qualify as group winner for next round. They have world standard proven strikers M. Klose, Podolski and Gomez with Good defenders. They are also having a world class coach Joachim Low. They are a team which lots of experience on such big stage. With the grp they are in, is less pressure for them to keep going till final to win the cup. With these, they are definitely the Championship contender and I cannot argue about Germany has been make favourite to win the cup.

M. Klose has been one of the favourite to win the Top scorer. This is because he has been doing very well on internationals level( 39 goals in 75 internationals). I am not going for Ronaldo or Torres as their internationals goals are not a great as M.Klose. With these in mind, we will use C. Ronaldo as a saver to cover our Top Scorer predictions.

As for grp winners, I will briefly touch on Switzerland and Romania. Germany and Spain are grp winners favourite and there is no doubt about it and most have the same concensus, as such I will not go into details anymore. Romania is under group of death and this is a good opportunity for them to show the world that they cannot be written off so easily. They are very motivated since the pressure will be on France, Holland and Italy. Romania defend is solid and they are under tough qualification group with Bulgaria and Holland, having 4 points to both of them, they got no fear with one of their rivals Holland as they know too well about them.

They are currently ranked number 12 in the world, which officially puts them on par with Portugal, Croatia and Netherlands. As such, there is no reason that Romania should be written off and I will take them as the "dark horse" to win the grp C winner.

As for switzerland, they are the hosting nations and with home advantage, surely they would like to deliver a good set of results. Under Euro Championship,a host nation has reached, at least, the semi-final stage in all twelve finals. Since we have Switzerland and Austria for the hosting nations, i would prefer Switzerland and is a class above others.
